Graveside services for Joyce Light, 71, of Brownfield will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 9, 2009 at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Doug Puryear officiating. Services will be under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Joyce passed away Friday, February 6, 2009 in Lubbock. She was born January 7, 1938 in Brownfield to Willie Ferman and Connie Dell Jones. Joyce was raised in Terry County. She graduated from Union High School. She then attended Draughn's Business College receiving a Associate Degree in Accounting. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Sue Dell Leach and a brother, Jimmy Simmons.
Joyce is survived by a daughter, Pamela Jelaine Miller of Lubbock; two sons, Billy Ray Derington Jr. and his wife Sydney Ellen of Douglasville, GA and Robert Dale Light and his wife Kim of Fairview, TN; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Francis Chidester of Longview and Theda Riskus of San Angelo.
Joyce will be in state from 12noon-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.
