Judy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Judy was born on October 28, 1945, in Underwood ND, the only daughter among four children born to Joseph and Luella Fast. She was raised in Turtle Lake and attended Turtle Lake High School. Judy married Alex Bovkoon, Jr. of Benedict, North Dakota, at the Lutheran Church in Coleharbor, North Dakota.
Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. They later moved to Brownfield, Texas, in 1965, where they established Bovkoon Auto Sales and raised their three children. Judy enjoyed visiting with people, making new friends, and embracing new experiences. She was a devoted mother who always made sure her children were cared for and prepared for life’s challenges and opportunities. Her greatest joy was her family, and she poured her love and energy into helping them succeed. Judy had many lifelong interests and talents. She was especially known and admired for her cooking.
She also enjoyed working in the garden and loved her flowers.
Above all, Judy’s life revolved around being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her kindness, generosity, strength, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Alex Bovkoon JR; daughter, Marilyn (Brent) Persilver; sons, Myron (Ellen) Bovkoon and Todd (Kristie) Bovkoon; grandsons, Braxton Persilver, Carter Bovkoon, Blane (Bailey) Bovkoon, and Thomas Bowen; granddaughters, Amanda Cabe and Shelby (Matt) Bennett; great-granddaughters, Kinsley Bovkoon, Quinnleigh Cabe, and Raylee Bennett; great-grandsons, Tucker Cabe, Bhodi Bovkoon, and Maddix Bennett; brothers, Larry (Val) Fast of Coleharbor and Monty (Connie) Fast of Turtlelake, ND along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Luella Fast, and her brother, Jerald Fast.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Judy’s legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
In honor of Judy and her love for flowers, the family would be honored to receive them.
