Julia Pina, a woman whose spirit could ignite any room, passed away on May 16, 2026, in Brownfield, Texas. Julia lived a life full of passion, resilience, and heartfelt dedication. She was a true spitfire, never one to shy away from expressing her strong opinions or embracing her headstrong nature. Julia’s love for life was evident in her daily passions—she found joy in garage sales where treasures awaited discovery, in gardening where she cultivated beauty and life, and in sewing where her handiwork told stories of patience and creativity. Julia possessed a determination and strength of character, particularly when working closely with people, that made her a memorable and impactful figure. Her opinions, strong and clear, always came from a place of care and conviction, leaving a legacy of courage and authenticity.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Flores Pina; parents, Jesus and Ernestina Salinas Cano; and siblings Baldo Cano, Claudio Cano, and Connie S. Serenil.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Ernestina Robertson and husband Robert N. from Lubbock, Janie P. Flecher and husband Tommy Lee from Brownfield; sons, Pedro Pina III and wife Sylvia from Lubbock, Pete Bazan Pina and wife Jessica from Lubbock; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
