LaDoyce Caswell, 93, of Brownfield, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in her home. A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Meadow--what would have been her 94th birthday. Interment will follow at the Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home.
LaDoyce was born on June 3, 1931, in Thalia, Texas, to Joe and Viola Keesee. In the early 1940s, her family moved to Terry County, where she met the absolute love of her life, Olane Caswell. They were married on July 28, 1949, and spent a lifetime devoted to each other.
She was a treasure. To know her was to be touched by her warmth and laughter--her smile lit up her whole face, and her eyes always held a joyful twinkle. LaDoyce loved deeply and fiercely--first her Savior, then her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She embodied love in its purest form: kind, wise, strong, and endlessly giving.
Her life was a testament to service and joy. Whether teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, leading 4-H sewing projects, serving as a school class parent, or working side-by-side with her husband on the farm--driving the tractor or feeding cowboys hearty meals during roundups--she poured herself into everything she did. Her home radiated warmth, comfort, and the kind of joy that left a lasting imprint on all who entered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Olane, her son Gerald Caswell, son-in-law Alan Bayer, great-granddaughter Cambri Rowland, great-grandson Kolter Green, and her brother J.D. Keesee.
She is survived by her three daughters: Shirla Bayer, Roni (Steve) Taylor, and Laura (Philip) Mackey; her daughter-in-law, Tere Caswell; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Bingham and Eloise Brown; and her brother, Bill Keesee.
We were truly blessed with the best.
