Funeral Services for Lela McKee, 91, of Brownfield will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church with Steve Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

For nearly three decades, Lela was a steadfast presence at Arco Pipe and Supply, where she worked diligently for 29 years. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lela pursued her education with determination, attending Lubbock Business College in the late 1960s, a milestone she deeply treasured throughout her life.

Equally profound was Lela's spiritual journey. Since 1954, she was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Throughout these many years, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the church's mission, contributing her talents and time in various meaningful ways. Lela worked tirelessly in the church library, enriching the congregation's resources and fostering a love of learning. Her beautiful voice graced the choir, uplifting spirits and bringing the congregation together in worship. Additionally, she shared her wisdom and kindness as a Sunday School teacher, nurturing the faith and growth of younger generations.

Lela's unwavering faith and generous spirit made her a beacon of warmth and kindness in the lives of those around her. Her contributions to the church and community reflected a heart full of compassion and a soul deeply rooted in faith. Everyone will remember her big beautiful Texas smile. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton McKee; daughter, Marilynn McKee, parents, Orby and Gladys McCrary and brother Galen McCrary.

Lela is survived by her son, Ralph McKee and wife Penny; granddaughters; Kim McKee and Kristina Watson and husband Ta; 4 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and a brother, Chuck McCrary.
