Obituary

Funeral Service for Leonard Wayne Brown will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Abundant Harvest Community Church with Rev. John T. Bowser officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Leonard was born on January 27, 1967, to Dewayne and Virginia Brown in Terry County, TX. He passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 59.

Leonard was a man whose heart was as big as his love for football. Whether playing the game himself or cheering for his favorite team, he found joy and camaraderie in the game. His family was the centerpiece of his life, and he took immense pride in the close bonds he forged with each of them. Leonard absolutely adored his grandchildren, often recounting stories and sharing laughter with them, making cherished memories that will last a lifetime. In addition to his love for family and football, Leonard found great joy in music. He was known to lose himself in melodies and rhythms while listening to his favorite tunes. His infectious spirit and zest for life resonated deeply with all who knew him.

Leonard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jeffrey Brown, Doris Brown, Houston Cummings, and Savannah Bean; parents, Dewayne and Virginia Brown; and his first wife, Belinda Sanders.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Brown; children, Kevin Sanders, Miesha Sanders, Rebekah Duran (Eric), Victoria Franco (Julian), Damien Franco (Leeandra), Isaiah Alvarado; brothers, Clarence Brown (Baby), Dewayne Brown (DJ); sisters, Gwendolyn Brown, Patricia Brown; grandchildren, Mariah, X’zarria, Kambree, Ayva, Juan Jr., Kevin Jr., Damien Jr., Izahlee, Novahlee, Donovan, David, Charlee; great-grandchildren, Za’myah and A’mereya; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A special thanks to Cassandra and Roy Cortez for being there for Leonard.
