Obituary

Funeral service for Linda Gail Taylor Floyd will be held at 10;00 am on Tuesday 26, 2026 at Brownfield Funeral Home with Ronnie Kenney officiating . Burial will then follow at Seagraves Cemetery.

Linda Gail was born on July 2, 1946 in Clarendon, Texas to Lonnie Roy & Velma Iva Melton Taylor, being the first in the family to be born in a hospital. She lived in Clarendon during her childhood, attending Clarendon Schools until the family moved to Seagrave while in elementary school. She instantly became a part of the Seagraves life, enjoying school and becoming a leader. She was the Jr. High Salutatorian & a cheerleader in Jr. High and High School. She was in many clubs including National Honor Society and graduated with honors with the Class of 1964. She was a "Who's Who in American High Schools" honoree. She attended Odessa College School of Nursing, She married Howard "Sonny" Floyd in 1965 at the First Nazarene Church in Seagraves. They were married 45 years. They lived in a few towns until they made their home in Iraan, Texas. While there, she worked as a dental assistant and spent 15 years as the Business Office Manager at the Iraan Hospital.

In 1971 they added a son, Brent to the family. They lived in Iraan until Sonny's death. She moved to Brownfield in 2012, happy to be home.

Linda loved reading, cats, traveling and Floyd Family Reunions. She deeply loved her family and friends. One of her biggest thrills was watching her grandchildren grow up, she loved being Granna. She enjoyed going on trips with the Fab Four of 1964. She was loved by so many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Iva and Lonnie Taylor husband, Sonny Floyd, son Brent Floyd, brothers Thomas Lee Taylor, Roy Dee Taylor, brother in law, Gerald McKinzie& brother-in-law Bobby Brewer.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Tiffany Floyd and grandchildren Jacob, Dylan and Ava, her sister Carolyn McKinzie Brewer, niece and caretaker, Brenda McKinzie Hawkins & many other in-laws, nieces, nephews & friends! She will be missed by all!!RIP
