Services for Robert McKinney “Mack” Thomson will be at 2:00pm, Monday, March 29, 2010 at Meadow Church of Christ with Bob DuPont and Bob Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Mack will be in state Sunday at the Funeral Home from 9am-8pm. The family will receive visitors from 2-4pm.

Mack passed away suddenly Thursday, March 25, 2010 at his home in Meadow. He was born April 1, 1946 in Brownfield to Loyd McKinney and Bobbie Lee Thomson. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 1964. Mack married Judy Ann Baker on July 6, 1967 in Brownfield. He was a Retired Vietnam Air Force Veteran. He worked for First National Bank during his high school years. He joined the United States Air Force January 15, 1965. He retired as a Master Sergeant on March 1, 1983. His Military Commendations included; the Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, National Defense Service Metal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with “V” Device, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Republic Of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device, Republic Of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic Of Vietnam Air Service Medal and Republic Of Vietnam Staff Service Medal. He was a member of the VFW Post # 08703.

After retiring from the Air Force he joined the team at Reese Federal Credit Union. He was also the City Secretary of Meadow. He went to work for Cingular and retired in September 2008. He was a member of Meadow Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd McKinney Thomson and Bobbie Lee (Thomson) Montgomery; his step father, J.I. (Monty) Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife Judy; one son Craig McKinney Thomson of Levelland, one daughter Catrina Glenn and husband Coby of Levelland; grandchildren, Troy Lee, Claire Ella, Joshua Todd and Tristan Luke; one sister, Glynda Gresham of Port Lavaca; 4 brothers C.W. Thomson of Lubbock, Bryan Montgomery of Shallowater, Andy Decker of Plainview and Leland Decker of Austin.
