Martie passed away on February 14, 2026, in Lamesa, TX. He was born on September 20, 1964, in Amarillo, TX, to Kevin and Sharon Sires. Martie was a graduate of Dawson High School, where he excelled in sports, especially football and basketball. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a child and held onto his faith throughout his life.
Martie married Dianna Stringer on March 8, 2018, and they made their home in Brownfield, TX. When Martie and Dianna reunited after many years, his heart was filled with joy, as he had always hoped. They enjoyed spending time in Ruidoso, NM, and visiting family and friends, especially their grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as “BoBo.”
Martie built a successful oil field services business called Big Four Meter in Sundown. However, he found his true calling as a grandpa and cherished his role as BoBo. Martie was a loyal friend, a devoted brother, and a fun Uncle BoBo to his nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed playing pool and loved engaging in nightly games of Farkel, Skip-Bo, and Yahtzee. Martie was also a devoted fan of Texas Tech and the Dallas Cowboys.
Martie was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Jones; his wife, D’Lynn Sires; his mother-in-law, Judy Coor; his stepmother, Nancy Sires; and his grandparents, Pansy Price Jackson, C.A. Price, Mary Ann, and O.H. Sires.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna Sires; children Brock Sires, Dillon Stringer, Cole (Hillary) Stringer, and Brystal Sires; father Kevin Sires; father-in-law Doyle Coor; grandfather Dean Jackson; grandchildren Lilah and Amelia; and sisters Tammy (Jim) Mazzon, Kathy Sires, and Dana (Alan) Webb, along with aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous lifelong friends.
A special thank-you goes to the ladies at Beehive of Lamesa, TX, and the staff at Home Hospice for their exceptional care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Welch Church of Christ / Kitale Children’s Home, P.O. Box 187, Welch, TX 79377.
Spending time at his father's ranch (Sires Ranch) in Cisco, TX, brought Martie much peace and comfort. His final resting place will be on Sires Ranch.
