Funeral services for Mary Ann P. Cortez will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Brownfield Funeral Home with Johnny Perez officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Mary Ann Cortez (Perez), born May 14, 1958, in Garden City, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on June 10th. Raised in Meadow, Texas, Mary Ann later made her home in Davidson, Oklahoma, where she and her husband, Ismael Cortez Sr., owned and operated their family restaurant for 18 years. Following his passing, she returned to Brownfield Texas to be near family. Mary Ann was known for her strength, generosity, resilience, unwavering faith, and devotion to those she loved. She cherished time with her children and grandchildren, enjoyed shopping with her sisters, family casino trips, cheering on nieces and nephews at school and sporting events, and making her famous enchiladas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Cortez Sr.; her parents, David and Donna Perez; her in-laws Paulo and Rosa Cortez; her brother, Rudy Perez; and her granddaughter, Ember Langley.

She is survived by her children, Ismael Jr. Cortez (Cristina) of Odessa, Texas; Esther Cortez Reyes (Carlos) of Stacy, Minnesota; and Blanca Langley (Kalan) of Owasso, Oklahoma; along with her seven grandchildren: Payton, Aubrey, Oakley, Roxy, Weston, Malia, and Gabby. As well as brothers, sisters, family and friends.

Mary Ann lived by the words, “Si Dios quiere”—God willing, trusting always in God’s plan. Her legacy of hard work, faith, and love for family will live on in all who knew her.
