Mary Mae Rhoades Gregg

Funeral Services for Mary Mae Rhoades Gregg, 83, of Bastrop, TX, formerly of Brownfield, TX, will be held at 2 pm on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Brownfield Funeral Home with son-in-law, John Hunter officiating.

Mrs. Gregg passed from her earthly life on February 1, 2024, at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. She was born on December 17, 1940, to Ordra L. Rhoades and Marguerite (Wragg) Rhoades in Graham, TX. She married Charley Lee Gregg on January 30, 1960, in Hobbs, NM, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1995, after 35 years of marriage.

Mrs. Gregg was a homemaker and was an incredible mother, raising 5 children. She will be remembered for her faith in God, her love for her family, and the care she provided. Her children and grandchildren knowing and having a relationship with God was of great importance to her. She never complained about what turns life took, even if it was difficult, and always had a positive attitude, never giving up.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, a long trail of strength and faith, a family who loved her, and many wonderful memories of always being there no matter what.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ordra L. and Marguerite Rhoades; her husband, Charley L. Gregg; 2 sons, Charley Lee Gregg, Jr. and Jeffrey Lane Gregg; a grandson, Tanner Mason Hunter; a granddaughter, Amy Nicole Cunningham; and son-in-law, Kenneth Oswald.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Beverly Oswald of Slaton, TX, Tracy Hunter and husband John of Midland, TX, Lynna Cunningham and husband Jimmy of Bastrop, TX; 7 grandchildren and their spouses; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bill Rhoades and wife Dianna of McKinney, TX, Harold Rhoades and wife Pat of Lubbock, TX; a sister, Sue Cash and husband Wayne of Clovis, NM; and many nieces and nephews.
