Miguel Antonio Soto's Obituary

A Funeral service for Miguel A. Soto (“Mickey”) will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel, with Tom Heath officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., also on Monday, April 6, 2026.

Miguel A. Soto was born on January 20, 1970, to Juan and Elida Soto in Brownfield, Texas. He passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 56.

Miguel was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Elida Soto, and his grandparents, Rosario and Josefina Garcia, and Nieves and Manuela Soto.

He is survived by his son, Michael Joel Soto; his wife, Stephanie Soto; his brothers, Ismael Soto of Holbrook, Arizona, and Christopher Soto of Lubbock, Texas; and his sister, Priscilla Soto, and her husband, Alex Garza, of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his nephews, Adrian Soto and wife Megan, Tristan Soto, and Prescott Soto, all of Lubbock, Texas; his nieces, Alyssa Soto of Meadow, Texas, and McKinley Soto of Lubbock, Texas; his great-nephew, Greyson Soto of Meadow, Texas; and his great-niece, Ellie Soto of Lubbock, Texas. Mickey also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and a beloved church community.

Family, community, and church were what Mickey valued most and where he found his deepest sense of purpose.

Mick greatly enjoyed large family gatherings, especially cooking and grilling for those events. A true real-life “MacGyver,” he could fix nearly anything or figure out how to make it work. He loved listening to music and cruising the streets of Meadow while enjoying his playlists, often sharing those drives with friends, cousins, and family. He also had a strong interest in aviation and loved attending air shows.

Many family members were blessed to witness his joy through his over-the-top celebrations, especially on the Fourth of July and Christmas. He also enjoyed relaxing on the beach, listening to the sound of the ocean.

Mick had a true servant’s heart, shown through years of volunteering with the Meadow and Ropesville Fire Departments, as well as his participation in mission trips and Walk to Emmaus.

The only thing that surpassed his love and appreciation for his country was his love for his son, Michael. From the day Michael Joel was born, he was—and always will be—what Mick held dearest in his heart. The two were rarely seen without one another.

Above all else, Mick loved Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
