Montie "Mont" Olon Floyd

Memorial Service for Montie Olon Floyd will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Puckett officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Mont was born on December 22, 1950, to Cletus and Joy Floyd in Brownfield, Texas. He passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 74.

Mont was a man of extraordinary character, whose passion for life and love for his family defined his years on this earth. Known for his remarkable talents, Mont was a master mechanic and an avid woodworker, capturing the beauty of creation through his hands. His love for gardening was evident in every bloom and harvest he nurtured, reflecting his deep appreciation for nature.

Those who knew him will fondly remember his spirited play on the volleyball and basketball courts during his youth, as well as his competitive nature in darts. Mont was a true engineer of life, creatively solving problems with what many might call "Southern ingenuity." Mont was a member of Union Baptist Church, and his faith was a cornerstone of his life and a source of comfort to those around him. He took pride in achieving 14 years of perfect Sunday school attendance, a testament to his dedication from an early age.

Mont is preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Joy Floyd, and two beloved nephews, Casey and Colton Burran. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Floyd; daughter, Linsey Floyd; sons, Monty and Micah Floyd; his seven grandchildren: Bella, Riley, Tristan, Conrad, Althea, Vada, Gabriella; his brother, Ronnie Floyd and wife Bobbye Jo; and his sister, Gale Burran and husband Ronny, all of whom shared countless cherished memories with him.

The family would like to thank Sagecrest Alzheimer's Care Center in San Angelo, TX, for the outstanding care provided to Mont.

Memorial donations may be made to the Terry County Memorial Cemetery or the Colton Burran Memorial Scholarship at Prosperity Bank in Brownfield.
