Mozelle was born May 10, 1928, at Lakeview, TX in Lynn County. She passed away in Andrews, TX, on February 2, 2024. Mozelle was the 8th of nine children. She attended Brownfield High School, where she was a member of the Home Economics club and played basketball. She graduated in 1947.

She met and married J.W. Young on December 21, 1947. They raised 5 children on the family farm in the Pool Community, where they lived for many years. Mozelle was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a well-respected leader in the small community of Pool. She served as a Boy Scout troop leader and was active with the Terry County Home Demonstration organization. She was a faithful and active member of the Meadow Methodist Church for many years. She also served as a class room-mother many times.

Mozelle is preceded in death by her husband, J.W.; two sons, Joe Young and Bobby Young; daughter-in-love, Darla Young; grandson, Danny Ray Young, granddaughter Emily Young.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Brock (Mike) of Andrews; a son, Jerry Young of Amarillo and a son, Gary Young (Christine) of Porterville, CA. and two daughters-in-love, Winnell Young of Lubbock, and Gayla Young of Levelland. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was the "Best Biscuit Maker" in Texas, according to those who have eaten them. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was also a devoted care giver for many-many years. She was a very hard worker, loved to laugh, and have a good time with family and friends, even strangers. She loved her family BIG and always made everyone know how special they were. She was truly a loving, caring, and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

One thing Mozelle really wanted was for her grandkids and great-grandkids to know the importance of living a clean life and ALWAYS having Christ in their lives.

She will be greatly missed!
