Reba Carson Slaughter

Services for Reba C. Slaughter, 97, of Lubbock will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Brownfield Church of Christ with Homer Jones and Earnest Smith officiating. Internment will follow at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Reba was born on June 27, 1910 to A. Luther and Martha Carson in Clarendon. She attended schools and graduated in SeaGraves. She married A.A. "Bud" Slaughter on December 4, 1927 in Brownfield. They moved to Terry County where they farmed for many years. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1961. She stayed in the Terry County until 1980. She then moved to the Carillon Senior Retirement Community. She is also preceded in death by 5 brothers; 5 sisters; and 2 grand sons.

Reba is survived by 3 sons; Burke Slaughter and his wife Lee of Brownfield, Dean Slaughter and his wife Helen of Ruidoso, and Booth Slaughter and his wife JoAnn of Liberal, Kansas; 2 Daughters, Erma Barnhill-Wood and her husband Weldon of Sweetwater and Nell Burns and her husband Sid of Buchannon Dam, TX; 12 Grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
