Robert Cantu

Robert Cantu, born on July 13, 1945, passed away on October 27, 2020, at the age of 75. He was born in Meadow, Texas to Jesus and Francisca Cantu.
For many years he worked for Loyd Daughrity as a painter, which led him to start his own painting business, Cantu Painting, for over 35 years. He also owned La Paloma Bar for 5 years. His hobbies were watching baseball, old western movies, playing pool and dancing. He also enjoyed spending time with all of his great-grandchildren, taking them candy and donuts.
Robert met Yolanda Longoria in 1967 and had four children.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Jose and Lupe Tijerina, Arturo and Simon Cantu; sister, Elena Gonzales; and a son, Jesse Cantu.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Cantu; five children, Ben, Martha, Sandra, Robert and Tracy Cantu; 2 step-children, Daniel Longoria and Joe Cavazos; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; Anita Romero, Dora Hernandez, Elvira Jimenez and Delia Barnhart.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 30, 2020, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Pastor Santos Gamez officiating.
