Funeral Service for Rogelio Jurado Arenivar will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with Father John Ohlig officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Brownfield Funeral Home, with Rosary at 6:00 pm.
Rogelio was born on May 24, 1949, to Luis and Angela (Jurado) Arenivar in Colonia Esperanza, Julimes, Chihuahua, Mexico. He passed away on October 15, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 75.
Rogelio was known for his unwavering devotion to his wife of 58 years, Manuela Arenivar. A true family man, Rogelio always put his loved ones first, checking in on them regularly and ensuring their well-being. His grandchildren affectionately called him “Bolo.”
Rogelio's jovial personality and outgoing nature made him the life of the party wherever he went. He had a knack for telling riddles, making others laugh, and bringing joy to all those around him. With a sharp mind and a disdain for calculators, Rogelio could effortlessly solve math problems in his head, showcasing his intelligence and quick wit.
Passionate about dancing and indulging in sweet treats, especially peppermint candy, Rogelio had a zest for life that was truly infectious. His love for fun and laughter brought light into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He would always say, "Pórtense bien y si se portan mal invítenme." (Roughly translated, "Always behave, but if you don't behave, invite me!")
Rogelio was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Angela (Jurado) Arenivar; 3 sisters, Elvira Martinez, Margarita Torres, and Angela Arenas; and 3 brothers, Jose Arenivar, Maurilio Arenivar, and Savador Arenivar.
He is survived by his wife Manuela Arenivar; daughter, Irma Rodriguez (Rudy); daughter, Liz Perez (Roland); son, Rogelio “Roy” Arenivar (Yadira); daughter, Adriana Rivero (Arnulfo); and daughter, Maria Elena Garza (Pedro); grandchildren, Jarrod, Jordan, Juhree, and Jayson Rodriguez, Jaci and Joli Perez, Obed Flores and Alexa Arenivar, Tristan, Avery, and Emery Rivero, Justin and Roman Arenivar; great-grandchild, Reidynn Arenivar; a sister, Francisca Jurado; 5 brothers, Valdemar Arenivar, Luis Arenivar, Ramiro Arenivar, Juan Arenivar, Isabel Arenivar; and many nephews and nieces that he loved dearly.
