Roger Glen "Butch" Pendley

Roger Glen “Butch” Pendley, 67, passed away on December 26, 2023, at his home in Brownfield. Butch was born on November 4, 1956, in Houston, Texas. Throughout his life, he possessed a unique sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. His quick wit and natural ability to crack jokes made him the life of any gathering. Even during his battles with illness, Butch maintained a positive attitude, showing unwavering strength and resilience.

Butch's career was varied and fulfilling. He spent most of his life as a custom harvester, assisting farmers during harvest season. He also worked as a truck driver and pumper within the transportation industry, utilizing his skills on the open road. His dedication and hard work earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of those he interacted with along the way.

Family was incredibly important to Butch, and he shared a deep bond with his loving wife Kay and their children and grandchildren. Butch's love extended beyond his immediate family to his nieces and nephew. He adored his pugs, finding solace and joy in their company. Butch is preceded in death by his father Eddie Cooper; and his grandparents Doll and Maggie Cooper and John and Eula Proctor.

Butch is survived by his wife Kay of Brownfield; a daughter Missy Lambert of Decatur, TX; mother Bettie Sue Cooper of Brownfield; brother Eddie Joe Cooper and wife Sheila of Brownfield; sister Erin Williams of Alabama; grandchildren Bó Amber Hill and husband Steven of Raymondville, MO, Skeeter Gentry and wife Kelsie of Alford, TX, Bridget Gentry-Sulkowski and fiancé Dakota of Decatur, TX, Shandra Barrett and Breanna Barrett of Lubbock; great-grandchildren Ashlynn & Wyatt Hill, Waylon & Josey Sulowski, and Blade & Blayke Gentry.
