Sarah Jane Field was born in Tahoka, Texas at the home of her grandparents, W.T. and Grace Clinton, on January 29, 1926. Her parents, Casey and Sit Jones, lived in Muleshoe at that time, but came to Tahoka for the birth of their first child. Sarah Jane attended school in Tahoka through junior high. Her family moved to Plains in 1939. She attended school in Plains where she graduated from high school.
She married Robert K. Field "Bobbie" on April 2, 1944 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. They made their first home on a ranch near Yeso, New Mexico complete with a large wood burning stove. They soon moved to Bronco which became their permanent home. They had two children- daughter, Sarah K., and son, Robert.
In the following years, Bobbie became active in the registered Hereford business. Many customers visited 07 Ranch and bought bulls. Sarah supported this effort cooking wonderful meals for these customers.
