Shelia Kay Stell

December 7, 1969 — September 28, 2020

Memories are etched in the minds and hearts of all who know and love Shelia Kay Stell Reed. Her life’s chapters are multidimensional...she was a beautiful gift that was given to Chalmus W. Stell and Emma Lou Henderson on December 7, 1969. Her spiritual journey was nourished as she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church. At a youthful age, she was taught the Golden Rules and she lived by them throughout her life.

Shelia was educated in the public schools of Brownfield. She was a proud graduate of Brownfield High School. After high school she equipped herself with the necessary tools to gain employment. She began her health care career; the high call of caring became her daily motto, as she enriched her patients’ lives. She was a valuable employee doing the extra mile to make sure her patients were taken care of. Her final employment journey would take her to Walmart where she gave diligent service.

Desiring a closer walk with the Lord, Shelia rededicated her life to Christ and united with New Life House of Praise. Shelia had a wonderful jovial persona. Her radiant smile brought joy to so many hearts. She was a loving wife, mother, doting grandmother, devoted sister, caring aunt, wonderful niece, kind cousin and loyal friend. She loved her family unconditionally. Her smile, voice and touch will be tremendously missed by her family and friends. But her vibrant memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Shelia Kay Stell Reed bid this world adieu on September 28, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chalmus W. Stell and Emma Lou Henderson; daughter, Courtnee Stell; sister, Beverly Jackson; grandchildren, McKaily Stell and Jarrett Malachi Stell; and other loved ones.

Her sweet memory will live on in the hearts of her beloved family, husband, John H. Reed Jr; children, Jarrett Stell, Chalmus Stell (CJ), Curtis Stell, Caylee Stell, and Tabryn Stell; siblings, Freda Jackson, Dewayne Willis, Tawanda Thibodaux, Kavin Stell, and Darnesha Randall; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, other family and friends.
