A memorial service for Stephnie “Lanie” Elaine Bryant, 56, of Lubbock, TX will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Brownfield, TX. Family visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
Lanie was born on November 3, 1959 in Brownfield, TX to Alfred Steve “Steve” and Barbara Lee Lawlis. She graduated from Brownfield High School, South Plains College and Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Physical Education. Lanie loved her family, co-workers and friends. She loved her walks with her twin and watching the Dallas Cowboys with her Dad. She also loved laboring for hours trying to find the right pieces to fit the puzzles her Mom and her put together. Her last years brought many smiles attending the sporting events of her nieces and nephews, her events with the “Party of Nine”, her mom and sisters annual trips, and ultimately the birth of her beautiful granddaughter.
Lanie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Hazel Hosea and W.C. Gruben, Jimmie and Edward Lawlis, Aunt Wanda Riley, and Uncles Lynn and Kenneth Lawlis. She is survived by her parents, Barbara and Steve Lawlis of Lubbock, TX. Her and Jay Bryant’s son Jarrod Bryant and his wife Whitney and daughter Kennedy of Lubbock, TX. A twin sister, Janie and Allan McClure of Brownfield, TX. A sister, Sherry and Steve Yarbrough of Houston, TX. A brother Derrick and Donia Lawlis of Greenville, SC. Her three nieces and two nephews and their families.
