Victor Perez Luera

Funeral Services for Victor Perez Luera will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm.

Victor was born to Jose and Ambrosia Luera in Yorktown, Texas, on July 30, 1941. He grew up in Yorktown until his family moved to Lamesa, Texas, where he was a farm laborer for 68 years until he retired and moved to Brownfield in 2004. Victor was a strong gospel believer since December 5, 1995, until his death. He was an active member of Ministerio Luz y Verdad and God was a priority in his life. Victor is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Ambrosia Luera and his fist grandson Jeremy Lee Luera.

Those left to treasure his loving memory are his wife Felisiana (Nancy) Luera, whom he referred to as "the angel that God sent him"; a son Jerry Luera and wife Amy of Lamesa, and 2 daughters Linda Luera of Lamesa, and Barbara and husband Joe of San Angelo; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; also Joe & Christina Jacquez, Jason & Monica Jacquez of Brownfield, Jacob & Misty Jacquez of Valley View, Jessica & Less Cole of Andrews; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Alvino & Paula Luera, Abelina & Julia Luera of Brownfield; 3 sisters Pilar and husband Fibel Hernandez of Lamesa, Paula Rios and Margarita Perez both of Yorktown.

Nancy would like to thank her children Joe, Jacob, and Jessica for all their love and support during the last 2 years and 7 months, and especially Jason for helping Victor with his personal needs. "Son, you made this Alzheimer's walk with me and Victor. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." This Alzheimer's is a cruel infirmity and not understood by many. Thank you for those that brought him clothes and snacks during these times, all the prayers, the phone calls and visits, and for those that went beyond themselves to stay with us at Apex. A special thank you to the entire Apex nurse's aide staff and Dr. Hord and Dr. Chebib -- not only his doctors, but his friends as well. The Brownfield Funeral Home and their staff for loving us and always being here for us. Thank you to Joe Jacquez for your service, love, and everything you did for Victor and taking charge of Victor's funeral arrangements.
