Gary Corwin Rigdon was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, dedicated funeral director, and cherished member of the Brownfield community. Gary, born on October 20, 1982, in Dumas, Texas, left us peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the age of 42, and ran into the arms of Jesus.
Gary's journey was marked by service and compassion. After proudly serving in the United States Army from 2002 to 2005, where he defended our country and the freedom of others in Iraq and Kosovo, he pursued his passion for helping others in their most vulnerable moments. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2007 and soon became the manager at Brownfield Funeral Home. In 2014, he and his beloved wife, Tina, purchased the funeral home, continuing a legacy of care and support for grieving families in their community. Gary's faith and dedication centered the funeral home's mission on God's love and service to others.
Gary's relationship with Tina was a beautiful partnership that blossomed in mortuary school in 2006. They were married in 2007 and shared a life built on love, respect, and shared purpose. Together, they created a sanctuary of healing for families, guiding them with grace and compassion during their times of need. His four children and his grandson were the highlight of his life, and he loved them well.
Outside of his professional life, Gary was a skilled craftsman, enjoying woodworking, forging knives, and leatherworking. These hobbies reflected his creativity and attention to detail, which shone through in all he did, both personally and professionally.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary and Wanda Riseley, and Dwayne and Gloria Rigdon; and by his uncle, Randy Riseley. He is survived by his wife, Tina Rigdon; parents, CD and Gayla Rigdon; children, Aspyn Rigdon, Blake Rigdon, Danielle Griffin and husband, Stephen, and Gage Rigdon and wife, Samantha; grandson, Jonah Griffin; brother, Zach Pate; mother-in-law, Barbara Cunningham; brother-in-law, Wayne Cunningham and wife, Jennifer; nephews, Grayson, Josh, Elliot, Ethan, Dakota, Nate, and Cooper; and numerous extended family and friends.

I was born and raised in Arkansas and moved to Texas in 1998. I worked for Carter BloodCare for 11 years before attending Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, where I met my wonderful husband, Gary. In March of 2008, Gary was offered an opportunity to work for Bob and Jacalyn Jones at Brownfield Funeral Home. Gary, our four children and I moved from Dallas to the loving community of Brownfield. In 2010 I was offered a position to work alongside my husband as a funeral director/embalmer and four short years later on June 1, 2014 we were blessed with the privilege of not only purchasing the funeral home but the continuation of service to the Brownfield community. I will continue to serve the Lord and his ministry at Brownfield Funeral Home by providing love, care and support to our community during their time of loss and grief.

Lisa serves as one of our Licensed Funeral Directors. She has a special way of bringing comfort and compassion to our grieving families and truly sees her job as a ministry. In 2015, Lisa graduated in the top of her class from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She and her husband Chris presently live in Plains, Texas, and are members of First Baptist Church there.

I was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and was raised in the loving but small community of Union, Texas. I attended Union School and that is where I met my high school sweetheart and husband, Ruben Vasquez. We have two beautiful and amazing children; Gerald and Chelsea. I've always had a love for flower arranging and decorating, so I found working at Brownfield Floral a dream come true for many years. However, I strongly believe the Lord guided me to Brownfield Funeral Home where I am the Office Administrator and a Pre-Need Specialist. I am so honored to be working here. This is the most difficult time for families and I want to be here to comfort and do what I can to make this time a little easier.

Chris is our Personal Care Associate and on-call chaplain/minister. He is a long-time resident of the Brownfield area. Chris received his ministerial ordination in 1987 and pastored churches in Georgia and Texas for almost 25 years before entering chaplain ministry in 2011. He and his wife Lisa presently live in Plains, Texas, and are members of First Baptist Church there. They are both experienced musicians and provide music for funeral services as needed.

I was born December 26, 2007 in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Brownfield in March of 2008. I started helping my parents serve our community in October of 2021. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I'm especially thankful that I have the opportunity to work beside and learn from my awesome parents as we help people in their time of need.

I was born on a ranch, several miles south of Tokio, Texas. I lived in different cities all over Texas, then moved to California, where I met my husband. We moved back to Brownfield in 1970 and finally settled down. I worked at Terry County Farm Bureau, then BJ Services for 20 years. I have worked at the Brownfield Funeral Home since 2007 as a Visitation Attendant/Receptionist. I have one daughter, DeeDee Charlebois, who is employed at Brownfield Federal Credit Union. I am a member of First Baptist Church, on the Friends of the Library Board, and am an active quilter.

I was born in San Bernardino, Ca. and graduated from Clovis High School, Clovis, New Mexico, 1978. I attended Clovis Community College and Eastern New Mexico University obtaining a degree in Business Administration. I married my high school sweetheart Kim in 1981. We have two daughters and three grandchildren. We moved to Brownfield in 1997 to be the Youth Pastor at Calvary Baptist and in 2014 I became the Sr. Pastor at Calvary. My wife Kim has been the Terry County Clerk since 2008 and we both have been committed to serving God not only at our church but in our community as well.

As a West Texas boy, I grew up in Meadow, Texas. I’ve been married to Rhonda for 42 years, and have lived in Brownfield our entire married lives. We have 2 daughters and one son-in-law, Kelsey Williams (Mitch), and Alex Duncan, We also have 3 beautiful grandchildren, Kambri, Kaycen, and Kreed Williams. Rhonda and I are members of First Baptist Church, Brownfield.
I was employed for Amoco/Oxy for almost 40 years, and retired from there in 2019. I enjoy watching all kinds of sports, especially when my grandkids are playing. I am blessed to be employed part time at Brownfield Funeral Home. The family atmosphere and the loving care they provide are just a couple of the reasons I choose to work here.

I was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. I moved to Lubbock to study at Texas Tech and have a degree in Communication Studies. My goal at Brownfield Funeral Home is to be a trusted adviser when it relates to families making plans for themselves or loved ones. This is an idea that we all very much believe in because it enables each family member to have their wishes met and burdens removed from the loved ones left behind.
